Initiative 8: Unlocking Capitol for New Farmers

Stacy Garrity will broaden the Agri-link program administered by Treasury so it can be used to administer low interest loans for startup materials for new farmers. The program will be expanded for loans when purchasing land and equipment. All applicants would still have to secure credit from a commercial lender according to their lending standards, keeping the safeguards intact. The state would then step in to provide funding that reduces the interest rate for the borrower.
