National Apple Day

National Apple Day; a time to “mull” the many health benefits of this favorite fall fruit.

You’ve probably heard that “an apple a day keeps the doctor away.” They can certainly help!

Apples are an incredibly nutritious fruit that offer many health benefits. Due to their rich fiber and antioxidant content, apples can not only lower your cholesterol and high blood pressure, but also reduce your risk for Type 2 diabetes and strengthen your immune system. (Just be sure to eat the peels — that’s where most of the fiber tends to be.)

“In-cider” info: The average American eats about 26 pounds of apples every year. It’s no wonder — their high fiber content makes us feel full longer, making them an “apple-solutely” satisfying snack.

Honey – know what you are purchasing

Believe it or not, several store bought honey brands use corn syrup as a filler and don’t have to list it in the ingredients.

You can test your honey to find out if yours is 100% REAL honey.

Real honey bears the fingerprint of Creator God,  in having the genetic memory of the honeycomb still present within it.

Put a small squirt in a glass bowl and put just enough cold water in to cover the honey.

Gently swirl your bowl and a honeycomb like imprint should appear, like the one pictured.

Isn’t God amazing?!?

What is a Oniscidae?

This is called the Oniscidae. You may find them under a brick or a damp object. You may have felt disgusted and wondered  why they exist in nature.  Well, let me tell you, the  oniscidae , better known as cochineal, is a subgroup of isopod crustaceans  whose function is to remove harmful heavy metals  from the earth such as mercury, cadmium and lead. They contribute to the cleansing of soil and groundwater to reaffirm  the wisdom of nature. Do not damage them or spray pesticides!
